In a video message released Sunday, Hamas chief Khalil al-Hayya confirmed Raed Saad — one of the Palestinian militant group's senior commanders — was killed in an Israeli strike on Saturday. Al-Hayya called on mediators of the recently implemented ceasefire in Gaza, including U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration, to reinforce the agreement and convince Israel to "commit to its implementation." After confirming his death Saturday, the Israeli military claimed that Saad was "directly responsible for violations of the ceasefire agreement" by Hamas in recent months, accusing him of leading the continued production of weapons during the ceasefire.
