Natan Obed, president of Canada’s national Inuit organization, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami spoke during a repatriation ceremony of Indigenous artifacts at the Canadian Museum of History on Tuesday. He said the late Pope Francis had told him ‘Thou shall not steal.’ The Pope made the comment to Obed during a visit to Iqaluit and later when Obed made a visit to the Vatican where they said they would consider repatriation of Indigenous artifacts.
