CALGARY – Police have confirmed a couple <a href="http://globalnews.ca/news/1152928/police-investigate-suspicious-deaths-in-lake-bonavista/">found dead in their Lake Bonavista home</a> over the weekend were murdered. Police found the bodies of 59-year-old Don Carlson and 56-year-old Roxanne Carlson around 1 p.m. on Saturday, after receiving a call from the couple’s son about a potential carbon monoxide leak at their house. Police say the couple lived with one of their three adult children, and their son had arrived at the home to visit his parents. During their investigation, police ruled out CO as a cause of death and called in the Homicide Unit. “We had the Calgary Fire Department go through the house to determine what role carbon monoxide played [in the deaths],” says S/Sgt. Grant Miller. “They were able to determine that there were no issues with carbon monoxide inside the home at all.” On Tuesday, Police confirmed they were investigating the death as a double homicide, but won’t say how the couple was killed. “There’s no clear motive as to why this happened,” says S/Sgt. Grant Miller. “Our investigative team is investigating every thought and every possibility at this time.” Police haven’t yet identified any potential suspects. The Carlson’s were last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014. Anyone who may have information on their whereabouts prior to that time is asked to contact police. Their family released a statement on Tuesday: <em>"We are shocked and devastated by the sudden loss of our parents Don and Roxanne Carlson. Both were loving parents and will be terribly missed by all those who knew and loved them. Our parents were wonderful and well-respected people, known for their love of family, involvement in their community, and their professional accomplishments.
