Amid the tense tightrope of North American trade issues between Ottawa and Washington, the U.S. Trade Department opened three days of public consultations. We speak with a Canadian trade representative who joined hundreds of others jostling to be heard in the U.S. Capitol. Plus, as fierce debate escalates over dropping the tanker ban in the Northwest coast of British Columbia, we take a breather from the political debate and speak with a local ship captain. He heads a group mandated to jump aboard ships in the region to help safely navigate waters there.
