Council quashes debate on banning national flag-raising ceremonies at Calgary city hall

A debate on amending Calgary’s flag policy to ban the raising of foreign national flags at city hall did not go ahead on Tuesday. Calgary’s mayor promised an urgent motion to ban the practice, but city council voted against even adding the matter to the meeting’s agenda. Adam MacVicar reports.
