California Governor Gavin Newsom celebrated a massive win for Democrats Tuesday, after voters approved a plan to redraw the state’s congressional map. Prior to the vote, U.S. President Donald Trump called the California proposal “unconstitutional” and suggested the entire vote was rigged. Newsom condemned Trump’s recklessness, claiming that the president – who he referred to as a “historically unpopular”– simply “does not believe in fair and free elections.”
