Today, the federal government tabled long-promised legislation aimed at combating hate crime. The justice minister rolled out four new criminal offences targeting the promotion of hate symbols to protect places of worship, schools and community centres. But as Touria Izri reports, civil liberties associations are concerned the bill could stifle legitimate protests.
