Trump says China won’t attack Taiwan on his watch, island maintains it must rely on its own security

In an interview on Fox News on Friday, Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping told him China would not invade Taiwan while Trump was in office. In response, Taiwan said the island must rely on itself for security.
