Ontario provides $250,000 for seniors’ programs in Peterborough area

The Ontario government is investing $250,000 to help seniors’ programming in the Peterborough area.
The funding is part of the Seniors’ Community Grant program that aims to increase wellbeing among seniors and decrease social isolation.
The Activity Haven seniors’ centre in Peterborough is one of seven organizations in the area to receive funding.
The others are the Selwyn Public Library, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes Northumberland and Haliburton; Havelock Belmont Methuen Seniors SeniorTech Connect; Peterborough New Horizons Bands and VON Peterborough Victoria Haliburton.
More than $23,000 will be allocated to the Activity Haven’s “Lift for life” program, that aims to help seniors with osteoporosis.
