A 46-year-old man from the Peterborough area — and coach of two local u18 girls’ teams — has been charged in a child luring investigation.
Jeffery Merrick faces four charges in total, and remains in custody.
He was charged with two counts of luring a person under the age of 16, one count of making written child pornography and one count of invitation to sexual touching.
Merrick is a coach with Cavan FC Soccer, and the Peterborough Girls’ Hockey Association and police are concerned there could be other victims.
Both organizations have removed Merrick from his roles as coach pending the ongoing investigation.
