“Most of the time I was thinking that, OK, it’s done — I’m going to die.” This Iranian-Canadian asked Global News not to identify her over fears speaking publicly could endanger her family in Iran as the regime launches its latest attack on dissidents. “This war… is getting worse and worse. People are getting scared and hopeless,” she says as she recounts how she was able to escape the country. She had travelled there just last month to get married, just before war broke out, and had to leave her new husband behind. Touria Izri reports.
