Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said U.S. President Donald Trump had a verbal agreement with him to keep the steel and aluminum tariffs at 25 per cent and by increasing the tariff to 50 per cent on Wednesday, Trump had broken the agreement. Ford added that he wants to ensure that the federal government slaps a 50 per cent tariff on steel coming to Canada from the U.S.
