Speaking in Halifax, N.S., Tuesday, Liberal leader Mark Carney addressed a question about former Liberal MP Chandra Arya, and the decision from the Liberal Party of Canada to not allow him to run in the 2025 Canadian federal election as a Liberal. Instead, Carney himself will run as the Liberal candidate in Arya’s riding of Nepean. Asked if the decision was related to Arya’s supposed relations with the Modi government in India, Carney said he is “not privy to exact information,” but that “certain information came to light” – ultimately resulting in the disqualification.
