A Conservative government would build a permanent military base in Nunavut to defend Canada’s Arctic and pay for it by “dramatically cutting” the foreign aid budget, Leader Pierre Poilievre said Monday in Iqaluit. “The Canadian Arctic belongs to Canadians, and Canadians will take back control,” he said.
