Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly on Monday spoke about Canada’s plan to deal with the Donald Trump administration that includes preventing tariffs, preparing a response should the U.S. follow through on their tariffs threat and, to diversify the economy by preventing trade barriers among provinces and territories. Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc added that the government has been in “conversation” with the Trump administration over the cost of living and secure access to energy supplies.
