Immigration Minister Marc Miller said Wednesday that there has been an 89 per cent drop in foreign nationals crossing into the U.S. from Canada amid heightened scrutiny of visitor visa applications. He added that the number of Mexican nationals intercepted trying to cross illegally has dropped 79 per cent since partial visa requirements were added.
