Khurshid Khan, or Mr. Khan to many, died recently. He was the owner of Khan’s HFX, a small grocery store in Spryfield and was known in the community as a man with integrity, generosity and honestly. He was the first man to make halal food accessible in Nova Scotia, often going above and beyond, according to his daughter Masuma Khan. And, across New Brunswick, fire departments are reporting record-breaking numbers of calls. The president of the province’s fire chief association said that has to do with a rise in medical calls, while Fredericton’s assistant deputy fire chief is pointing to population growth.
