On the Israeli side of the border with Lebanon, anxiety is also heightened because of the escalating war. Israel’s northern-most city of Kiryat Shmona is just a couple of kilometres from Lebanon. For nearly a year now it has endured bombardments from Hezbollah. Most of its residents have fled, but Global’s Jeff Semple spoke with some who remain.
