Canada abstained Wednesday during a vote in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on a nonbinding Palestinian resolution demanding Israel end its “unlawful presence” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. ob Rae, Canada’s permanent representative to the UN, explained the decision, telling those in the chamber that Canada “cannot support a resolution where on party, the state of Israel, is held solely responsible for the conflict.”
