Speaking in question period on Tuesday, NDP MP Blake Desjarlais pressed the public safety minister for measures of accountability after seven Indigenous people were reportedly killed by police over the span of 19 days. “This is colonialism and systemic racism that continues to persist,” Desjarlais said. “No more Indigenous children getting a bullet instead of help.”
