The Nova Scotia RCMP issued a formal apology to African Nova Scotians and all people of African descent on Saturday for the historic use of street checks and other harmful interactions. According to members of the community, the apology is a step in the right direction, but words are empty without action. Staff were unsure how to treat her symptoms and now she is speaking out in hopes her situation doesn’t happen to anyone else.
