Jasper wildfire: Mayor commends emergency officials, rejects suggestions they failed to save town

During a virtual press conference where plans for a staged re-entry into Jasper, Alta., were confirmed – as devastating wildfires in the city’s National Park have been extinguished – Mayor Richard Ireland commended emergency officials for their fight against the blaze and rejected any suggestions that they had failed to efficiently save the townsite.
