Ghost posting: Why are companies adding fake job listings?
Description
July 23, 2024
With Canada's unemployment rate having risen last month, people are heading to job sites and company pages to apply for jobs, but a new survey from ResumeBuilder.com is warning there's a growing trend to watch out for: "ghost" postings. These posts are added by legitimate companies but are listed with no intention by the businesses to ever fill the positions. As Global's Sean Previl reports, business experts say it's a bad method to employ because when those companies that used fake listings start looking to hire for real, applicants may not want to bother applying at all.
