Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said during the White House briefing on Monday that allegations of the attempted shooting of former U.S. president Donald Trump being an “inside job” were “preposterous.” Mayorkas also said that it was “dangerous to propagate rumours that are so unequivocally false and provocative” and that the goal now is “to tamp down the rhetoric in this country.”
