Montreal’s storm sewers no longer up to the job as flash flooding becomes more common

As the remnants of hurricane Beryl dumped up to 100 mm of rain in some parts of Montreal, several businesses and homes were flooded, while cars were submerged on highways overwhelmed by water. Now, many Montrealers are wondering why this keeps happening and what’s being done to stop it. As Global’s Dan Spector found out, there is no simple solution.
