Alec Baldwin ‘Rust’ shooting trial begins in New Mexico

In New Mexico, the involuntary manslaughter trial of actor Alec Baldwin is set to begin with opening statements heard on Wednesday. Twelve jurors and four alternates were selected on Tuesday to determine whether the actor committed a felony in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film ‘Rust’ in 2021. If found guilty, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison.
