‘Virgin birth’: Snake believed to be male welcomes 14 babies despite no contact with other snakes

All her life, Ronaldo, a six-foot-long Brazilian rainbow boa snake was thought to be male. That was until the 13-year-old reptile gave birth to 14 snakelets on June 20, despite not having contact with any other snakes for the past nine years.
