U.S. heat domes could cause stormy impacts in Canada

A “heat dome,” a ridge of high pressure that can settle over a region for several days, has situated itself over parts of the western U.S. and while it may not effect Canada with the high temperatures, there could still be other impacts. Meteorologists and scientists say when storms form around the heat domes, they cannot penetrate the area of high temperatures and instead can be deflected north and right into Canada.
