Speaking in Toronto on Wednesday, Housing Minister Sean Fraser said the introduction of a $500-million public lands acquisition fund would allow the government to offer long-term affordable housing solutions, which would take pressure off the housing market and allow Canadians living in federally owned housing to save up for a down-payment on their own home.
