Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was in Toronto on Wednesday, where he announced a new $500-million public lands acquisition fund, which he says will allow the federal government to purchase lands to build more affordable housing. He said the ability to set up 99-year and 100-year leases on public lands will allow the government to offer long-term co-operative and affordable housing.
