Here in Canada, you might think our climate and numerous lakes would protect us from severe water shortages. But a rapidly-heating planet means warmer winters and drastically smaller snowpacks — which makes the prospect of serious and prolonged drought a reality. Now, stakeholders in Alberta have signed a series of historic agreements about how water will be shared. Heather Yourex-West explains.
