Budget 2024 introduces capital gains tax changes that will impact 0.13 per cent of Canadians

Speaking about the new 2024 federal budget Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland detailed changes to how capital gains are taxed. These proposed changes could see roughly 40,000 of the wealthiest Canadians pay a bigger share of their returns annually.
