New North Shore wastewater treatment plant to cost nearly $4B

Metro Vancouver says the new cost of a wastewater treatment plant on the North Shore is now estimated at $3.86 billion dollars. The updated estimate accounts for inflation, market conditions, interest rates and hiring a new contractor after losing confidence in the previous one. The project began in 2013. It’s to be substantially complete by 2030 — ten years later than originally planned.
