Minister of Justice Arif Virani announced on Tuesday that Justice Canada will be providing $2.1 million in funding to three different programs within Aboriginal Legal Services. The announcement was made as part of the federal government’s “ongoing commitment to address systemic racism and inequities in the criminal justice system” and will help address overrepresentation of Indigenous people in Canada’s justice system.
