A ‘crazy decision’ to remove certain books from Surrey curriculum says B.C. premier

The Surrey schools district has removed four classic books from its recommended reading curriculum due to concerns about racist content. At a Feb. 29, 2024 press conference, Premier David Eby called the removal a “crazy decision” and said schools should focus on bigger threats such as racist content online and digital safety.
