On Tuesday, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said a potential ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas that could see the release of up to 40 hostages is still being negotiated. Kirby said he wouldn’t comment further as the U.S. is still working out “the modalities of this.”
