Following suit with the U.S. and U.K., Canada slapped new sanctions on Russia on Friday. The announcement was made by Foreign Affairs Minster Mélanie Joly and comes after not just the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, but on the eve of the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
