In a Wednesday joint statement with the prime ministers of Australia and New Zealand, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” and said that a military operation into Rafah would be “catastrophic.” The statement added that “there is simply nowhere else for civilians to go” and urged Israel to “listen to the international community.”
