During question period on Monday, NDP MP Heather McPherson accused the federal government of sending military arms to Israel without ensuring that they are not being used against civilians. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly responded by saying that she has not approved any export permits of weapons to Israel since Oct. 7, and any permits issued since then were “essentially nonlethal permits.”
