Speaking at the Auto Theft Summit on Thursday, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne said amid skyrocketing auto thefts in Canada, the federal government should regulate the sale of ghost keys. "I think the overall message today is that to the criminals out there, we're going to disrupt our activities with everything we have...we're going to go first with regulatory power because we want to have we want to take immediate action to deal with that," he said.
