Use of Emergencies Act during Freedom Convoy protest violated Charter rights: Federal court

The Federal Court ruled the government’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act during the so-called “Freedom Convoy” that travelled across Canada and descended upon Ottawa in the winter of 2022 violated the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Morgan Black reports.
