Edmonton encampment legal battle in court as Rowland Road camp residents resist removal

A human rights group is suing the City of Edmonton over how it handles homeless encampments but the city asserts they’re dangerous. The legal battle arrived in court on the same day of a standoff between clean-up crews and residents of one such camp. With team coverage during the noon news, Kendra Slugoski was at the courthouse while Sarah Komadina was live at one of the camps in question just a few blocks away on Rowland Road.
