Japan earthquake: Woman rescued from collapsed home as race to find survivors continue

An elderly woman was rescued from her collapsed home in Japan’s Wajima city on Thursday as rescue workers raced to find survivors of the New Year’s Day earthquake, despite a three-day survival window closing. The woman, in her 80s, was conscious while trapped under the collapsed first floor of her home, the Osaka Fire Department said.
