Robert Cramer, general manager of the Detroit Transportation Corporation, told Global News he and his colleagues would buy “anything” from the shuttered Scarborough RT. The Detroit People Mover, Scarborough RT and Vancouver Skytrain operate under similar systems launched in the 1980s and Cramer said new trains and parts are increasingly hard to come by. With the TTC closing Line 3, Detroit has tabled $1-million-plus to give the trains a new home.
