Montreal’s Île-Bizard borough has a new mayor. Doug Hurley, a former police officer turned instructor, secured a resounding mandate in Sunday’s byelection. Fresh from his victory, he met with reporters at Montreal city Hall. While his party, Ensemble Montréal, is claiming momentum is on their side, there are still two long years ahead before the next municipal elections. Global’s Gloria Henriquez reports.
