The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said during remarks in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday that the people of Gaza were “trapped” in an enclave that “has now shrunk by half.” “It has been almost six weeks of hell for the people of Gaza… Six weeks far too long for the Israeli hostages and their families,” Lazzarini said. “It has also been six weeks of total disregard for international humanitarian law. I have to say the scale of destruction and loss is just staggering.”
