
About Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes:
Housing is a human right. Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes believes that housing is vital to a person’s health and wellness, and ability to thrive in the community. The agency empowers tenants by offering services and support, including food security, recreation, addictions support, spiritual care, employment, community integration, and community responsibility.
Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes provides permanent supportive housing and community-based programs to individuals living with mental health and substance use-related needs. Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes help people with a history of or at-risk of homelessness and support them in maintaining permanent housing. Individuals are connected to resources needed to maintain social, recreational, educational, occupational and vocational activities.
Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes provides both on-site housing support services and mobile housing support services.
Our Services:
Mental Health Supportive Housing:
The HOST program is designed for adults with complex mental health needs, a history of homelessness, precarious housing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness. The HOST clients work closely with a Community Mental Health Worker who will visit with them at their homes and in the community to ensure they are provided with the necessary supports to aid them in maintaining their housing successfully and improve their quality of life.
Addiction Supportive Housing:
The program is designed for adults with a history of substance addictions, complex mental health needs, a history of homelessness, involvement in the criminal justice system, precarious housing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness. Clients work with an Addiction Counsellor who ensures they are provided with the necessary supports to aid them to maintain their housing successfully and improve their quality of life.
Group Home Living:
This program is designed for adults living with significant mental health challenges who require a high degree of support and typically have experienced prolonged hospital admissions. Once a resident no longer requires a high degree of support, staff assist them in moving to more independent housing.
Trustee Case Management:
The Trustee Case Management Program provides individualized plans of financial support in the areas of rent and bill payment, budgeting and savings. The program assists clients in moving towards greater financial independence and housing stability.
Intensive Case Management:
The Intensive Case Management (ICM) program is designed to provide long term individualized services and mental health supports to individuals who are living with mental health / addictions challenges in North York.
Creative Works Studio Creative Works Studio:
provides support to individuals living with mental health and/or addiction challenges to transform their lives through the power of artistic expression. At Creative Works Studio, each member is treated as an artist first, regardless of their art background.
