Prior to last week's incident, there were two derailments in 2020, and one in 2004, on the same stretch of track near Bath Road.

An estimated 870,619 litres of crude oil spilled into floodwaters in the northwestern corner of Iowa following a train derailment, a railroad official said Saturday.

According to court documents, half of the 24 charges against the railway related to an alleged failure to create proper shipping documents and the other half allege unqualified personnel were involved in the shipments.
