A seventh-grader from Oromocto, N.B., has inspired thousands of people to donate to Fredericton Homeless shelters.

City officials are grappling with homeless shelter overcrowding, and advocates say there is a major deficit in affordable housing in the city.

'The Men's Shelter' in Fredericton has a new name. Residents put forward new name suggestions and the facility will now be called 'St. John House'. The hope is that the new name will provide more dignity for residents.
