The outage happened at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday and has affected more than 2,000 customers. Fortis B.C. is estimating that power will be back on at 10 p.m. 

Resort officials explained that temperatures swung from a rock bottom of  -30 C to 3 C in a matter of only 48 hours and that is part of the reason why the Powder Chair was closed.
